Green Mountain raises Diedrich bid

Posted on November 24, 2009 3:30 PM
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. said Tuesday it has brewed up an offer to match rival Peet's Coffee & Tea Inc.'s $32 per share deal for target Diedrich Coffee Inc. Diedrich said its board was considering Green Mountain's revised offer and has informed Peet's Coffee about this latest development.

Peet's Coffee on Monday had raised its cash-and-stock offer to buy Diedrich to $32 per share, or $265 million, from a Nov. 2 offer of $26 after Green Mountain, of Waterbury, Vt., offered $30 a share in cash for the company. Green Mountain's latest bid of $32 is an all-cash deal.
